Incense burners

Incense Burners (Mabkhara)
An incense burner, known in Arabic as "mabkhara", is a traditional object used to burn incense, often made from wood, metal, or ceramic. Common in Middle Eastern and Gulf cultures, it is typically used to spread fragrant smoke during social gatherings, religious ceremonies, or to perfume homes and clothes.

The mabkhara usually consists of a container that holds hot charcoal, over which incense (such as oud, frankincense, or bukhoor) is placed. As the incense burns, it releases aromatic smoke that fills the space with a pleasant scent. Many incense burners are handcrafted and decorated with intricate patterns, making them both functional and decorative items.

In Gulf culture, offering incense to guests is a symbol of hospitality and respect.
